The latest WordPress release focuses on enhancing security and resolving maintenance issues. It comprises 5 bug fixes for Core, 16 bug fixes specifically addressing the Block Editor, and 2 critical security fixes.
Given the critical nature of the security updates, it’s strongly advised to promptly update your WordPress sites. Backports for earlier major WordPress releases, starting from version 4.1, are also available.
To update to WordPress 6.4.3, you can either download it directly from WordPress.org or access it through your WordPress Dashboard. Simply navigate to “Updates” and click on “Update Now”. For sites supporting automatic background updates, the process will initiate automatically.
Notably, WordPress 6.4.3 is a short-cycle release. The next major version, 6.5, is scheduled for release on March 26, 2024.
